Kapsaret member of Parliament , Oscar Sudi has apologized to ODM Party leader Raila Odinga following an attack on him on Friday 1 during the burial of ‘Chairman men’s conference ‘ Mzee Jackson Kibor .
During the disgracing incident , a chopper that had the former Prime Minister and his allies aboard was pelted with stones and other projectiles , damaging the windscreen and air shield .
Oscar Sudi speaking at a funeral service in Kapsaret condemned the violence that was meted out on the opposition chief and called for law enforcers to get to the bottom of the matter .
The lawmaker who has since been summoned by the DCI for allegedly organizing and coordinating the chaos , stated that Raila is free to sell his policies and to campaign freely to all parts of the country .
“Members of the Kalenjin community are not known for that brand of politics .I want to state categorically that the mistake is already done and that we apologize to Mzee Raila Odinga and his outrage . We are aware that there youths who have been arrested in connection to the chaos and that is the right direction towards ending political violence ,” he said.
Sudi also asked Raila to organize another outing in Eldoret , Uasin Gishu county .He assured the former Prime Minister that he will mobilize a crowd to cheer and listen to his manifesto.
“I want to tell Raila that he can come back to Eldoret and if he wishes I could help him in mobilizing crowds to his rally . We will attend his rally and listen to his policies , ” he added.
Sudi statement comes against the backdrop of a statement by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations , summoning him , Soy MP Caleb Kositany and Uasin Gishu county assembly speaker David Langat.
