The Deputy President and Kenya Kwanza coalition flagbearer, Mr William Ruto has unveiled Mathira Member of Parliament , Mr Rigathi Gachagua as his running mate in the forthcoming 2022 General elections.

The naming of Kenya Kwanza running mate has persisted for months ,now bringing the guessing games to a close .

On Saturday , the much anticipated unveiling of Mr. William Ruto’s deputy almost ran into tailwinds amid reports of a deadlock.

It is reported that by evening ,Members of Parliament affiliated to Mr.Ruto were reportedly split over the choice of Mr Gachagua and Senator Kindiki .

Senator Kindiki and Mathira MP, Mr. Gachagua drove out of the meeting by 5pm ,hinting of a possible deadlock .However, they drove back to DP Ruto’s Karen residence later.

Kenya kwanza had considered a couple of options in the running mate position who included Alice Wahome , Ndindi Nyoro , Justin Muturi and Anne Waiguru .

Rigathi Gachagua on his part said that he would discuss with Mr William on country’s ailing economy .

DP Ruto knows that Mt.kenya support is crucial come August elections .
