Ezekiel Mutua promises to fight for Kenyan Music after appointment as new MCSK CEO

Barely six months after his exit as the CEO Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) ,Ezekiel Mutua lands a new job as the new CEO of Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK)

DR.Mutua was replaced by Christopher Wambua on August 7,2021 as the interim CEO of KFCB.

The Board of Directors MCSK through the chairperson Lazarus Muli on a statement said that they were pleased with Ezekiel Mutua as he emerged the top contender in their interviews .

“The Board of Directors of the Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ezekiel Mutua as its new Chief Executive Officer effective Friday March 25, 2022,” Chairperson Lazurus Muli said on a statement.

Ezekiel Mutua has replaced Milcah Kulati as the new CEO of the Music Copyright Society of Kenya .

However, on his part Ezekiel Mutua Promised to Fight for Kenyan Musicians and to restore its glory that has since been lost.

“My message is simple : I will work for you and with you to make music profitable and meaningful .I will fight for you ,defend your rights and put conversations about music at the front table like I did with film .Together we shall raise the quality of kenyan Music and restore the glory of the industry .I am your champion.” Ezekiel Mutua said on a statement.

Ezekiel also promised to make Musicians rich as other countries musicians are among the rich individuals .

“In more progressive countries musicians are among the richest and most respected people in society .It can happen and will happen in Kenya too !” He said.

However musicians have mixed reactions towards appointment of Ezekiel Mutua .Likes of Sauti Sol movement Mutua’s appointment.

“Ezekiel Mutua’s appointment is a dissapointment .What did he do for film ? Kenya continues to elevate mediocrity this is just sad.” Bien Baraza alias Bienaimesol said in a statement.
