Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria now claims that the ruling Jubilee Party has spent Ksh1 billion in a day buying aspirants who are vying for various positions in the August polls.

Kuria who is also the Chama Cha Kazi (CCK) party leader made the claims on his official Facebook account today, March 25, 2022.

In his statement, Kuria claimed the party that had seemingly lost political strength in various parts of the country especially Mt Kenya region was buying aspirants to beat the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party that has made firm roots in various parts of the country.

Kuria stated that even with the alleged expenditures, Kenya Kwanza political vehicle would still beat the Azimio la Umoja coalition.

“Jubilee has spent Ksh1 billion from yesterday to today buying aspirants. We will still defeat you resoundingly,” he posted.

Among persons said to be re-joining the ruling party are Kirinyaga Women Representative Wangui Ngirici who is eying to unseat incumbent governor Anne Waiguru.

Others are former Ruiru MP Esther Gathogo who yesterday defected from UDA to Jubilee and Kirinyaga senator Charles Kibiru.

The new political moves come as hopefuls rush against time to declare their parties of choice before the closure of the period as stipulated by law.
