Detectives have apprehended a boda boda rider who abducted a foreign National on Saturday Morning and raping her before abandoning her in a forest .
According to Directorate of Criminal Investigations , Protas Onsongo was nabbed by Detectives later in the afternoon as he attempted to flee to the city evading arrest after the heinous act.
“In an unfortunate incident reported at Ongata Rongai police station this morning , the youthful woman recounted amid tears how the bodaboda rider forced himself on her before leaving her in the dense Ololulua forest in Ngong Kajiado county ,” DCI said in a statement.
According to the DCI , the woman in company of two other friends left Club 1824 , a popular joint along Langata road at around 4:30 a.m where the three foreigners hailed three motorbikes to drop them at a hotel in CBD where they had reserved rooms .
However, after they had joined Langata road headed towards the city centre , the victim’s motorbike that was to leave the parking made a sudden detour and sped towards Bomas of Kenya Direction .
The victim realized all wasn’t well when she noticed a lot of vegetation that is characteristic of the Ongata Rongai route .
The victim raised alarms but this fell on deaf ears of the rider who’s ambitions were must achieve hence speeding the motorbike precariously towards Ololua forest where he did the disgusting act .
A team of Detectives drawn from the elite crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB) and the DCI Nairobi was immediately deployed to assist their Ongata Rongai counterparts in a manhunt for the suspect.
The process was easy as the Cybercrime detectives had unmasked the identity of the rapist using Digital forensics and it was a matter of time before he was arrested .
The suspect was intercepted in Ngong at around 3.p.m with the aid of National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) as he attempted to flee the city .
The Victim and the suspect were taken for DNA samples and test in a medical facility in Rongai.
This incident comes barely weeks after another victim was molested by mob boda boda riders along Wangari Mathai road .However, the key suspect was arrested as he tried to flee the Uganda evading arrest .
