Four Detained In Kibra Over Alleged Voter Bribery

Police in Kibra are detaining four women for allegedly bribing voters.

The first three were arrested at Toi primary polling station after they were cornered by local leaders while trying to influence the ongoing voting exercise.

The fourth one was arrested at Kenyatta market station for committing the same offence.

Upon interrogation by the authorities, the suspects claimed they were agents allied to t UDA candidate in the Kibra parliamentary contest MacDonald Mariga.

Kibra deputy county commissioner Gideon Ombogi has confirmed the arrests, saying the three are in police custody at Kibra police station.

The administrator said they have launched a further investigation to establish the person behind the vice.

Local leaders monitoring the exercise in Kibra have raised concerns over insatiable voter bribery calling for police to step up the vigilance.
