Gatundu South Member of Parliament (MP) , Moses Kuria has today appeared before the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to clarify on remarks he made during United Democratic Alliance (UDA) National Delegates Conference (NDC) that he and his other counterpart politicians aided President Uhuru Kenyatta in rigging 2017 elections .

Following Kuria’s remarks , the IEBC called him for summoning on March 30 , to for the words were offensive and against the law .

Moses kuria on his part before appearing to the committee said that he was to the IEBC offices to “Open servers .”

“At the IEBC to open servers ,” Kuria said.

The meaning has not been established but in layman the phrase means exposing truth of a particular thing.

Moses Kuria on appearing before the IEBC filed an objection to have the matter handled by IEBC reasoning that the High court had ruled that electoral board lacks the power to determine whether a person has breached the electoral conduct.

Through his lawyer, Moses Kuria said that the IEBC cannot be the Judge ,complainant and prosecutor at the same time .

However , the IEBC dismissed Kuria’s objection saying the hearing will be conducted and verdict delivered.

The IEBC chairperson Wafula Chebukati ordered Gatundu South law maker to appear before the Electoral Agency on April 7 for the hearing .
