Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader, Alfred Mutua has broken ties with Raila affiliated , Azimio la Umoja coalition in favor of DP William Ruto led Kenya Kwanza coalition.
Speaking in Nairobi on Monday , May 9 ,the Incumbent Machakos governor stated that the sidelining in Azimio led to the unprecedented decision .
He stated that the Maendeleo party was excluded in decision makings in Azimio as well as exclusion from campaign funds not forgetting the roles which will be granted to the Party after election victory .
The out-going governor accused Azimio coalition of dishonesty.
“According to our new constitution , you cannot force people to be in a relationship they do not want to be in ,” He said.
“I will traverse this country to campaign for Ruto as I believe he is the best person to move the country forward .”
The Deputy President has since welcomed the governor in Kenya Kwanza coalition.
